I simply adore the Cascade Locks in Oregon, but not as much as I adore this sweet couple I got to photograph. This autumn engagement photography session with Sierra and Frederico was filled with the most incredible scenery and vibrant fall colors. Before we get to all their gorgeous photos though, let’s meet the couple.
How did you two meet?
Federico and I have been together for just over 3 years after meeting at a mutual friend’s party, and we just recently got engaged! We both enjoy spending time outside or playing with our dogs when we are not working on our house. Life for us has always been go-with-the-flow and take it as it comes!
What physical attribute of theirs makes your knees weak?
Sierra – Federico’s smile has always been my favorite attribute of his. Since we met, if he’s smiling I usually end up smiling too.

What do you want to remember about your relationship/marriage right NOW in 20 years?
In 20 years I want to remember how the little things are the best things, and how comfortable and at peace we feel when we are together, no matter what we are doing or going through.
Do you have a fave artist/song you love to jam to together?
Our range for genres of music is so big, but right now I would say Greta Van Fleet or Ashnikko are two artists we jam out to right now!
Exploring the Cascade Locks with Sierra and Frederico was so lovely! I had just moved to Portland earlier in the month and was so excited to explore some new areas and Cascade Locks did not disappoint! The area was filled with so many incredible views. I was especially excited by all the greenery and moss all around. I had just moved from eastern Washington which is mainly desert so the new scenery and greenery made me so happy! Plus, it was fall time which meant lots of autumn colors! Everything looked so beautiful and Sierra and Frederico were so sweet, I couldn’t help but have a blast!
One of the best things about having your engagement photography session at Cascade Locks is that you don’t need a permit. While it is located in the Columbia River Gorge, unless you plan to block off the whole area, no permit is needed. For more information, visit the UDSA website.
