This Haystack Rock Couples Session at the Oregon Coast was so much fun! It was a gorgeous day with the sun peeking through the clouds on the beach. Because this is such an iconic location there were quite a few other people on the beach enjoying the rock, but that didn’t stop us from getting some amazing photos!

Rychlend and Taylor flew all the way from Texas for their session and I was so excited to share a small part of this beautiful state with them! They had such a fun time in Oregon, the weather was a little cooler than they were expecting so if you’re visiting from out of town and haven’t been to the Oregon Coast before you may want to bring a few layers and expect it to be on the cooler side.

Cannon Beach
There isn’t a whole lot of parking near Haystack Rock with street parking being the closest parking to the beach entrance. I definitely recommend getting there early or parking in town and walking on the beach itself towards Haystack Rock. Haystack Rock isn’t the only fun part of Cannon Beach, there are lots of cute shops with plenty of nautical themed items, and you can’t miss out on the clam chowder when you’re visiting the Oregon Coast!

Weather at the coast can definitely be iffy even in summer, but I absolutely love the moody setting you get when the fog surrounds the coast! Golden hour is also an absolutely beautiful time to go, as you can enjoy a walk on the beach as the sun sets across the ocean.

Outfit Ideas
Rychlend and Taylor matched in classic black outfits and looked so classy and stunning! When planning your outfit for your couples session you should pick colors and patterns that will complement what each other is wearing, rather than pieces that may clash and be distracting. Rave Review
“We came all the way from Texas to have our engagement shoot and booking with Olivia was a seamless process. From the inquiry to the receiving our final product. If we are ever back in the PNW we will definitely rebook for another session. She’s very personable, sharp and has an eye for composition.”

Oregon Coast Wedding Photographer
While I am based in Portland I absolutely love capturing weddings and elopements at the Oregon Coast and am always so down to travel there. Packages do not have travel fees included in them and are instead curated to your desired location and the pricing of nearby lodging if an overnight stay is necessary.
